Hi! I am Kathy Mcguire

Tell us about your history as an interior designer.

My love of beauty and creativity was the path that led me to my interior design business, Kathy McGuire Interior Design. I was happiest when working with beautiful fabrics, trims, and designs. Working with clients to help them achieve a one-of-a-kind space was a very rewarding takeaway. My interior design business was never "work" for me; it was more of a calling that helped clients complete their vision. One-of-a-kind Jewels by Kathy is similar in that respect. 

What inspired you to start your own jewelry line?

My inspiration for starting a one-of-a-kind jewelry collection stems from my love of beauty and uniqueness, whether it be a painting, interiors, or fabrics. My ability to unite color, texture, and unique designs is my passion. I was looking for a new venture when I walked into another world, the bead shop in NYC.  I could create and be surrounded by gorgeous gems; I had found my next passion. 

What inspires you for each piece?

My inspiration comes from my background in interiors.  Seeing one inspiration and allowing it to mix with other materials that compliment each other. Every necklace has its own story. Initially, there is a design in mind, but sometimes it starts with just one bead, and it evolves into a unique piece of art. 

Like my interior design, I wanted to be the name behind the outcome. One-of-a-kind Jewels by Kathy only made sense.
